I think immersion in asian culture via 3rd party observation can actually be quite thought provoking and interesting.

I personally don't think it's a 'fetish' per say, but rather just a preference. It's the same way as some people only date people who are blonde, or have blue eyes, or big boobs or something. Haha. It's a preference. However, some girls have Asian-fetishes.

I have always liked Asian guys, mainly because all my friends have always been Asian and I've just spent a lot of time with Asians- so it just kind of became a part of me. Also, my parents frequently traveled to East Asia when I was a child and I would always hear about their experiences and what not... I guess it's just because I've had an over exposure to Asian cultures that I'm into Asians.

I hear this from my friends -_- but i tell them Asian guys are more my type than other races but i don't like every single Asian guy. But i do like Asian Food a lot too and there Culture too. But its nothing to do with others who you like .

in order to answer this question, we probably have to see what definitions we give to the words of "fetish" and "stupid". chances r if u ask 100 ppl what their definitions r for these 2 words, u would get at least more than a dozen different ones. therefore, it's meaningless to answer this question just like many other questions in life. every1 is entitled to be "stupid" in his or her own way, n take the "fetish" as wish, as long as it is not a crime. it could very well bother another group of ppl.

no, it is not a fetish, nor is it stupid.

it is a "crime."

I've heard this before, and I don't think the word "fetish" is being used correctly (as already stated on this thread). I think the reason people use the word "fetish" is because it is something that is not the "norm." But if you were to describe the "liking of Asians" as an Asian fetish, then you would also have to describe the "liking of Caucasians" as a Caucasian fetish. Or if it is the Asian culture that is supposedly being fetishized, then the latter would be an American fetish. In all cases, the word "fetish" becomes, as previous posters have noted, just a "preference."

That being said, I have had the experience of someone finding me unattractive after learning that I'm not very "Japanese." What she actually wanted was someone who was heavily into Japanese pop-culture, which she eventually found in a non-Asian guy after she stopped going after guys based on their ethnicity alone. We became good friends though, so this isn't a sad story; it's just an example that I thought was relevant.
