Definitely not a miracle, just because something has a rare possibility of ever happening doesn't make it a miracle. Even if something has a billion to one possibility of ever occurring, as it is bound to happen once in every billion of cases.

It gives me cringe when I read yours words.. She's sharing her story and what she thinks what a miracle is by her own experience since it happened to someone very special to her and you judge her own experience saying "definitely not a miracle" ... Who you think you are to judge other people beliefs again?

You are such a disrespectful person with an important lack of empathy for others.. Looking for a logic in such topic goes beyond of what you or the science can ever explain, science not always explain everything and that's your limit when it means others people beliefs.

I am disrespectful? it would be disrespectful if I tell her that she is right when she is wrong by all standards. I respect people too much that I do not hold my punches and I do not add to the illusions or disillusions going around. She has every right to believe it is a miracle, I have every right to tell her that it isn't, what happened to her mom followed the laws of probability, I wouldn't call it miracle for such thing is very much possible, I do not credit the supernatural responsible for curing her mom from her disease, but rather, I give full credit to the surgeons, the doctors, the whole team of medical professionals who have worked on her mom, also the long line of people who have amassed the knowledge and technology making it possible.

Does that mean I lack empathy? No, it only means I am being true and realistic, you should try that every once in a while.
Yes, there is a logic behind it, and I have already show it and demonstrated it for you, yet your emotions is getting the best of you.
And yes, exactly, just because you do not understand something, or it is too complicated for you to grasp doesnt make something immediately as supernatural, you are creating an argument of ignorance of which I do not value.

I agree with you on the mom's part, but it's different here to have wrong reason to believe when things are set

Well actually, by definition it is:

mir·a·cle
ˈmirək(ə)l/
noun
a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.
"the miracle of rising from the grave"
synonyms: wonder, marvel, sensation, phenomenon, supernatural phenomenon, mystery
"his recovery was a blessed miracle"

a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment that brings very welcome consequences.
"it was a miracle that more people hadn't been killed or injured"

an amazing product or achievement, or an outstanding example of something.
"a machine which was a miracle of design"
synonyms: wonder, marvel, sensation, phenomenon, supernatural phenomenon, mystery
"his recovery was a blessed miracle"

It is good that you have taken the time to look it up in the dictionary which proves my case, there is no reason to attribute surviving from an operation of which there has 5 percent chance of surviving as a result of a divine intervention or agency, it not extraordinary, there is nothing supernatural about it, it follows the laws of probability.

Omg you heard of dictionary, you realize that's made in China ?

Everything is made in China. I had to get my BF from there because all the American made ones were defective.

What an insult. I'm from 'Murica.

If that's the case. Then why you korean and japanese learn our words ? Plus, you not that good looking to be Chinese

Yeah I'll just ignore this guy.

I love how you put the word "yet" there, otherwise without it your comment would take on a whole new different meaning.
And yes, just because we do not understand something yet, it doesn't warrant anything we have troubles understanding as a miracle, or of the divine, especially when it flatters our ego and self-interest.
The honest stance would be to admit your ignorance and suspend judgment.

For example, if you take a man from the 1500's and drop him to our time. That man, would fall down on his knees and call a car, a cellphone, with all the technology we have now and attribute them as MIRACLES, and may even worship them as GODS. Is he at fault? No. He is just ignorant. What he thinks of as miracles are for us ordinary things, natural, the evolved natural.

If by adult you mean believing in fantasies, believing only in things that make you feel good regarding them as true, and believing anything that challenges your beliefs and hurts your ego as wrong, and by adult you mean, being so persuaded by emotional appeals rather than reason and evidence, then I think you are the child here and need a lot of growing up to do. If you set aside your hurt feelings, then maybe you can learn something. First thing you should try learning about is responding in a civil, coherent, and reasonable manner instead of answering my counter-argument with a meme. :)
