Not validating myself, just trying to make people have discussions regarding the most important questions about life. And that conversations like this should't be just undertaken by the few intellectual elites while (as you might be suggesting) that we the public should be complacent and rather discuss Pokemons and all childish things? That is very anti-intellectual and very condescending. Everybody should participate and educate themselves in sober intellectual ethical discussions. I value people more than you do that I see their capacity for anything, no matter how difficult a discipline is. The more people engage in discussions like this, the better the world will become.

Being arrogant about your intellect is not the same as being intelligent. Most certainly is not the same as being wise.

Take some lessons from TheProfessor on how to have intellectual discussions without being a dick.

Hm arrogant, by telling people and supplying a reasoned argument that destroys their belief system. Arrogant because I urge people to think like adults, because I urge for people to protect their intellectual integrity. Sounds like arrogance is not a bad thing at all.

Professor? Well, let him come to me and debate me at any given topic. Not you acting like his Bitch boy chick. I will determine myself whether his intellect is worth my respect, but until that happens, I am not gonna take your word for it boy chick, if I take your word about anything, I may be reduced to child like yourself.

In order to deliver a truly reasoned argument you have to understand your audience. In order to persuade your audience you have to know how to communicate effectively with them, which requires a basic modicum of respect.

You spend half your argument trying to convince them of your intellectual superiority and the other half rationalizing your contradictions, hypocrisy and emotional defensiveness.

Fail.

Nope that is being condescending Nanox. Do you want me to accept your suggestion that people here are like children as you describe them? And that I must first beat around the bush, and slowly giving them cheap praises as I manipulatively maneuver my arguments to a point I have killed them with kindness that they have no choice to agree with me? No. Not me,

Again, I respect people, but I do not automatically respect their beliefs, respect is earned when it comes to beliefs. If your beliefs are ridiculous, I will attack it and demonstrate how silly it, and rightfully so. Ridiculous ideas and beliefs must be ridiculed at all times.

My condolences to your parents.

Yet you went with art instead of science... couldn't cut it with a science degree?
