You can't say you personally click on someone's page because you thought they had a good personality, especially when you don't know them. You click on it because you thought the person was cute. Internet cultural is it's on entity floating in it's own universe.
Its society is made up of a complex system of attention starved people. You seriously can't say you aren't. Why else would you post hundreds of pictures of yourself to dozens of sites. Everyone is a walking commercial of themselves on the internet.
...Well that's my amateur folklorist view of it all at least.

I love it or hate it. It's there.

Honestly, if a guy wants an White skinned female over a darker skinned female than who cares? That's just what a guy wants in a female, I honestly don't think it's personal. It's sad that they don't want a guy simply because of the color of their skin but it happens. I am beyond sure there are tons of guys who love darker skinned females, I have tons of guy friends who actually love VERY Dark skinned girls over the lighter colored girls. It isn't a case of racism it's just what they honestly want. Could you call me a racist for wanting an Asian man over a White guy? I would give the white guy a chance but honest to gosh I really am not all that attracted to white dudes... It's not racism or discrimination, I'm part European so yea...It's simply what I am attracted to... But I must say again, even though I am young and brown skinned I still get hit on a lot. There will always be people who like one thing over another, you can't really hate them for it or call them racist etc.
Good point Oni

Whether your a blogger or a youtube star you want some type or level of attraction from others. We all want to be wanted in some way. How much you get or want is all based upon what you put out there. Lots of times thats not in your control in open environments like this.

I was trying to use "attention" as a broad term. It doesn't necessarily mean you want a man's attention in a sexual way or popularity. Some people just want recognition for something. You're an artist. I'm sure you want people to see your work. Like I said before the internet is a complex society.

It makes sense too if you think about it. A lot of attractiveness is heavily socially constructed and Western society says that whites are the most attractive all around. Even if we try to be open, it's very difficult to fight against what society tells you on a daily basis. Again, I think this will improve with time.

In general, I think
Asians...I do not prefer darker girls, which really sucks I admit. RARELY Asians who have grown up in the West are definitely more open, but I still think this bias exists.

Unfortunately this bias is carried over and used within black, Indian, and asian societies.
You see it in rap videos all the time. Lighter skinned blacks, latina, biracial and asian women always have the "goddess" role in hip hop videos. They're the ones the rappers are chasing after, with the slow motion shots, showered with gifts, and have love scenes. Darker skinned women have the "hoe" role, where they're seen shaken their ass in the background.
Slowly you're starting to see more darker skinned women in the "goddess" role in videos now. I guess people are finally opening their eyes to what is beautiful.
