Odd as this may sound, I would go to relearn Chinese in either Mandarin or Cantonese. The simple fact that I was born in the US and surrounded by 95% English speakers, brought me a great language handicap.

According to the Top Internet Languages ,

The top 5 languages on the web are:
1) English (26%)
2) Chinese (21%)
3) Spanish (7%)
4) Japanese (5%)
5) Portuguese (4%)

My goal is to be able to communicate with as many people/sites on the internet as possible. So after I master (speak/read/write) the Chinese and Spanish, I will be able to communicate with over half the people/sites on the web (English/Chinese/Spanish)!!!

I have learned some Japanese already, and I am now learning Korean. (Yay!) I think the next language on my list is either Cantonese or Mandarin. I haven't decided yet. ^.^

Really? you're also learning ''Taiwanese''? It's not Mandarin you know? It's a local dialect. Most younger generation can't speak it nowadays. I am sure as hell can't speak ''Taiwanese'' though i am ''truely'' Taiwanese. I can speak Hakka'' which is another local dialect spoken by Hakanese minority in Taiwan!

Mandarin is way more important and universal nowadays And the pronounciation is much easier than cantonese.

But to be honest, Cantonese is more fun and culturally quite important. (It's quite well-known that historially cantonese is more important than mandarin, i m speaking it very quietly in order not to offend all native mandarin speakers)

It's your choice, of course.
