:) I'd like to learn ancient Chinese though, it's so fascinating, i read quite a lot ancient Chinese books. I guess i just love the feeling of the words.
and i don't mind learning Japanese cause i want to understand Animination without subtitles. :)

i've studied japanese in University (actually still doing the last few lectures for my bachelor's) simply because I think japanese language or call it "intonation" is really pretty--geez, hard to describe- the language sounds very good to me (think this is better)

I wouldn't mind studying other asian languages- cause all the ones you've mentioned sound good too :D

Not particularly. I'm perfectly bilingual (English and French) and I'm also learning Spanish, Italian and Portuguese as they're also Latin-based and are very similar to French.

When I work on my Japanese and stop for the night, I start thinking and dreaming in Japanese.

I watch many movies in Mandarin and I understand a handful of words spoken.

Just a question to clarify topic, if I may.
What do you mean exactly by "Taiwanese" ?
Min-Nan hua (Chinese dialect spoken in Taiwan, AKA Taiwan Hoklo) ?
Because in nowadays Taiwan, the language used at schools & universities is Mandarin Chinese, written in traditional characters.
