Dude, Europeans who chose to live outside Europe are way way more open minded, but the minority among the Europeans. Many decided to go abroad because they were fed up with their tight ass mentality in Europe themselves. If you think the racism in the US is bad, oh boy, you wouldn't survive in Europe. There are of course stereotypical numb skull Americans, but in large cities, most white folks are very considerate (not the suburbians), and very much against racism. Most of my friends are white and they are all sincere. They do make ethnic jokes, but we all know when it's a joke.thetraveler wrote: america is a different place from europe. i hang around europeans in the states and i have found they are by far more fair and sincere than most white americans i have encounter. they speak their minds about how wrong racism is and they care about this. and they are friendly and social and easier to build rapport with.

This is what's ironic. Your victim mentality, constant complaining, and fear of even so much as posting a real picture while you bitch about the aforementioned, is what is truly annoying. Okay, you made one post, we get your opinion. But you go on and on, and it's not socially normal.
Not to be taken seriously.

I lived my whole life in Germany, and now I live since 3 years here in the States. Right, racism is and will be always present. RACISM DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE. But USA is far more worse in racism than Europe, and I grew up in a fucking village, with fucking narrow minded country people, and my dad is black. 30 years ago....horror....but still, here the racism, in the States, it's sad. Black people blame the white people, every other race is pointing at you when you say, you prefer asians. White people try to be "like" the black thugs. Black men hate Black women when they date outside the race. Not to forget my family from my dads site(well, not all of them (

, trying to keep me in the race, and totally ignore the fact that my mom is white. THAT, all that hate is madness.

I think it's a lot to do with the big city mentality. when you live in a big city, there are lots of idiots, but the majority of the people live, work and go to school with people of all kinds of ethnic backgrounds whether they like it or not. so naturally they are way more used to it than the rural folks.
in North America, people are more centralized in large cities than in Europe where many still live in small towns and it can be managed because they are more locally oriented. it's great that they can sustain the economy locally, I wish we support the local businesses more here in Toronto, but at the same time, the village mentality may foster the ignorance.
I saw a major difference between Lyon and Paris, or Hannover and Berlin in terms of how racism is viewed. yes, I consider Lyon and Hannover small cities, after all I grew up in Tokyo.

*Hannah* wrote: Such a long thread to whine about this? *rolls eyes* Do you know how many cruel comments girls get before they get 18? I did not see any forum posts made by us about white men being mean here.
And you did not even stand up for yourself? The difference between asian and black men might not be the stereotype that you might think about but that they stand up for themselves. Asian men could start their own media to bring their view of the world and have fun. And you "Hochseeflotte_Kaiserliche Marine" in that situation could have just make a joke about her stupid comments. I do not have a dick but I can think of at least 2 comments I would have shot on her.
This forum gets a turn-off more and more. Never met such asian men in real life. *shakes head*
"Then in a cruel ironic twist of fate" ah no wait because she decided to, she left this place of self-pity and boredom.
Well, his reaction is somewhat understandable. It would be a big shocker to get dissed like that so openly and with *everyone* around you chiming in and making fun of you as well. It's a lot easier to keep your cool when it's being confronted 1 on 1.
One good retort to keep in the back of your hand is "and you have cardboard titties".
Other than that, agree with black men standing up for themselves. Sometimes you have to go out and grasp respect, and not necessarily in thuggish or gangster means.
