You shouldn't call it scientific faith. You do not need faith in science, because it works and continues to be very reliable.

You want to try and guess which come first in the picture ? First you need fantasy idea, and I'm talking about 500 years ago. Where were the science back then ? Great powerful US didnt even show up on the map.
You won't believe me if I tell you China was scientific way before anyone else. The tech was leading the world big time

printing tech was invented by Chinese, if we were decided to write Harry Potter. This story will be made in China by now

We don't do bullshit here, but I'm gonna use god's power to bet with you, and I promise Chinese won't need to land a foot or fire the big gun on phli and turn all of your lives back to Stone Age. If you up for this challenge we can get organized now.
We gonna do time traveling, but I will change a bit of detail

I agree, but the article is a response to that often trotted out idea that science or atheism requires as much "faith" as religion.

Well, it must be complete ignorance for somebody to say that atheism requires faith, but most of the time people who speak it are trolls, thus it is worthless talking to them.

Science is the way of correct thinking.

This article talks about the typical ‘you're going to hell’ rhetoric and an initiative to create “safe, neutral places for students to talk about their doubts without fear of religious bullying”, among other stuff.

This is what I actually said. I realize that the subtleties of sense and reference are lost on you, but don't put words in my mouth.

Your certainty of being right about things you cannot possibly know is faith based thinking. And the level of knowledge you claim to possess is near omniscient.

Not all Atheists are like you (thankfully). Most of them are rationalists who rely on the scientific method to learn about their universe (as do many of us agnostics). But no true scientist claims to possess The Truth (that is the role of faith based thinking and a claim you have made often).

A true scientist is a dialectical thinker who realizes that theories have to be open to change based on new information as it is discovered. The search for such discovery never ends and a closed mind discovers nothing.

A scientist doesn't seek information to confirm his beliefs, he searches to disprove them.

You, boy, are no scientist. You're a charlatan.

Who is talking about certainty?

Even Richard Dawkins who is the most known and celebrated atheist in the world right now, that when pushed, he would say he is 90 percent atheist, 10 percent agnostic. That is what it means, that it is more likely that a god exist than otherwise. :D

I cannot be as gracious as him, I give it 99-1 chance. And that 10 percent Dawkins has for the existence of god, is reserved for the indifferent god, the deistic view, a personal god, would score much lower I am sure for him.
