I am "full" German, or at least I grew up there, lived there, and it depends on where you are in Germany. I always thought people in the Ruhrpott are very open-minded and friendly. I am from Bavaria, and yes.....we are special, but we are not Germans anyways *lol*

hmm...I have been all around Europe, and you will have people who let you in their circle of friends easier than others. The same here in America...

Just a little inside, our school system is set up not to do anything that offends other races, ergo "We killed a lot of Jews, disabled people, people of colour, and homosexuals. Maybe, if you think a bit this way, you might understand why we are shocked about racial/self-racial jokes aren't liked with Germans. Otherwise, we do have humour, we love to laugh...

It's sometimes hard to make it right for everyone, but sometimes it's good to accept people as they are, with their good parts and flaws. Get to know someone from Germany a bit closer, and you will see that we aren't all that bad. It's just a different education, culture....that's all.

btw....I always say that to the Japanese men I dated....no humour *hehe*

I think it's a great thing to learn about where other cultures are coming from. It might not seem like anything notable, but it helps others to understand where you're coming from. Is there anything else that you can think of? I find it fascinating.
