It really depens, if the person grew up in another country, then I would say it doesn't matter. However some of the Eastern Asians (especially Koreans) who never really lived outside of their country, were a bit rude or would say weird/awkward things, or would directly comment on my body and looks (it would usually be about my blonde hair), maybe it's because they weren't used to talk to western women but I just never really felt that much comfortable having a conversation. But of course it does not apply to everyone.

i can't.
there are a few videos on youtube that talk about distinguishing them, but i only remember a few things:

Koreans have lighter brown eyes, larger faces (which i like), and i think they said larger nose bridges, i can't remember.

the Chinese men i've seen usually have more noticeable, distinctive cheekbones and jaws, but not always.
Japanese men, from what i've seen but not always, don't have more childlike (as in youthful), round features on the face. they look like an older sibling compared to their counterparts in other countries, but i like the more youthful look. Filipino men seem so mixed to me sometimes that they look more Spanish than Asian. i know very little about other regions.

If that happens there will be some mansplaining to do from all of us men here on this forum. I for one will take no part in that topic's discussion OR moderation  :ninja:

Koreans are like that. In fact, Koreans do that with each others too. They are very specific when it comes to appearance. They don't just say "You are beautiful." They will talk about the size of your eyes in comparison to the size of your face and so on. I've been told how my eyes aren't even.

This is an interesting question,In modern society, Westerners are more willing to accept Japanese and Korean culture, such as Japanese anime and Korean pop culture。In fact, many Westerners often find it difficult to get in touch with the nomadic culture of East Asia,From my observation, I feel that Kangba Tibetan men may be the group with the highest proportion of handsome men in East Asia。The strongest East Asian people should be the Balhu Mongol tribe。

Out of the three, tbh I prefer Chinese or Korean. I dated a Japanese guy for awhile, and he was very hard to read because he never was really open or communicative. I read about in Japan, body language and eye cues are big when understanding each other in Japanese dating. But I wasn't raised in Japan, so if he was sending me cues about how he was feeling, what he wanted, etc, I couldn't pick up the signals. He was very indirect about almost everything and it was confusing. Our communication styles were just too different. Also, it made me a bit uncomfortable how he talked so much about anime characters as if they were real people. (I am not an anime watcher btw). One thing I did love about him were his manners. He was so old-fashioned gentlemanly. I really appreciated that. He also was the calmest driver I have ever ridden with (and that's hard to do when you are driving in the city lol). He had a lot of self-control, which I admired. In my experience, Chinese and Korean guys are much more communicative and relay their feelings. They are also mannerly and gentlemanly. I think overall, Korean and Chinese men are more my style.
