We did a lot of updating and bugfixing a bit ago.

May I ask what kind of fix worked for you? This could help other users and us trying to figure stuff out.

Currenttly automatic logout mostly happens after 60 minutes. We might be able to extend this due to recent upgrades, but this requires testing in order not to impact site performance in general (current session handling is ... :side: ).

To prevent from being logged out, I just leave Hey-Ai to idle on the browser. This way, I can get up to 18-24 hours before being logged out automatically.

I asked almost 3 months ago if sessions are only meant to last 30-60 mins before being logged out, I guess this answers my question.


I would like to suggest that the automatic logout periods be increased to at least 30 days or so.
I'm 99.9% sure that users absolutely do not want to log into the site multiple times per day.

Other social websites allow you to stay logged in for indefinite periods of time.
Why is Hey-Ai restricting this to 1 hour?

3 months ago the answer would have been different as I was changing it around.
2 months ago I changed a number of settings and have been waiting for feedback since.

I'd love to be able to do that. Joomla by it's nature is a Content Management System, not a social network. Setting the session time too high will result in the server going down as it can't handle it.
The "remember me" function is quite dependent on a bunch of settings and has not been working properly for us for years. We're testing different settings on several servers, but need constant feedback to solve the issue.

Not my preferred setup, either.
Our site is more than 11 years old, that is older than instagram, with tiny fraction of the target group, 100% fewer employees and about $1 Billion less of a budget. There is better software out there now, but moving user data there would cost a lot of $$$. Please remember that everyone here is an unpaid volunteer.

And then it logs me out randomly
Browser refreshes itsself
Is it the browser or hey ai?

A bit of both probably. Hey-Ai will log you out after a while.
The browser refreshing itself is not triggered by Hey-Ai, however. Most mobile browsers will do that automatically if you re-visit a tab. <- does that sound like what you are describing?
