most french and English speakers i have met are poor have no money. you could consider to learn arabic ,

if you're learning french you're really just learning english because 90% of english comes from french words.

it's important to read old Civil War letters to find out what English once sounded like before being butchered by modern society.

Sorry, if I am not agreed with your comment about the English origins. I'm going to answer as an expert in languages and linguistic that I am but also as a former French professor at one of the universities... English is a West Germanic language that originated from Anglo-Frisian dialects brought to Britain in the fifth to seventh centuries by Germanic invaders and settlers from what is now northwest Germany, west Denmark and the Netherlands. That's why people who learn German or English are able to learn quickly those languages and any other language or dialect speak in the Celtic regions.
French is a Romance language (meaning that it is descended primarily from Vulgar Latin) that evolved out of the Gallo-Romance dialects spoken in northern France.
Also if we go more back in History, linguistics agree the origins of French also are from the Sanscrti, ancient language as wel. That's why a person who speaks French, easy can learn to speak Spansih, Italian and Portuguese.
I will not deny the fact that each of the modern languages has influenced from other languages as well, this is originated from the immigration point of view. English is true that has a lot of words that the origins are French, or Latin. Like in medicine, most part of the medical terminology is based on Latin. I hope to be helpful to clarify this.
