I have taken it and knowing my type has been useful . I am INFJ , apparently the rarest of the Meyer's Briggs types. I bet there are one or two of those here too.

For a personality that is meant to be quite rare there seems to be quite a lot of us looking back on this thread. Maybe there is something about online forums that attract INFJs.

I have a theory on why INFJ and INTJ, despite being the rarest, happen to be the most popular ones in the forum (not just this forum but other MBTI forum).

The way I see it, I believe the judgmental introverts (IXXJ) tend to be vocal about their opinions. They may be reserved in the real life, but it could be the opposite when it comes to online community.

Also, maybe the extrovert types are too busy doing things in real life, we rarely get to see them posting stuff on online forums.

I've taken the test a few times. Most of the time I just come out as INFP. Sometimes it's different though... not complaining. It just means I'm idealistic, mostly.

I don't think there is any sinister reason for it. In fact, I assure you there isn't. :)

I think it's just easier for INFJs to connect online. I know I'm quite awkward and shy when I'm meeting new people irl. It just takes a while for me to open up to someone new.

the internet means you don't have to get up and shower in order to socialize.

make this your mantra today: "look inside my soul and you can find gold and maybe get rich." // "in the cold Kentucky rayyayayaayn." - Elvis

I think you are spot on with that assessment of INFJ's.
As an INFJ myself, in person I find men (white esp.) to often be unduly aggressive. In my case they either look at me with interest, notice my cane, then dismiss me with a look of some mixture of ignorance/prejudice/pity/fear/disgust . :pinch:
OR the other 70% of the time they come on WAY STRONG  , when I rebuff their advances (gently but firmly) they become oversensitive (scary). There have been times I feared for my life because a man wouldn't take "No, I don't want to go home with you" for an answer. When this happens online I have the joyful option of blocking them. :P
Online is a safer way to screen people over time in a comfortable social environment
, and like @patches said we don't even have to get dressed to do so. :woohoo:
