To be honest I like to see some over-weight idol,I like to see that balance.And if people are less superficial, how else would these idols make their money I wonder.

Depends on taste of people. I think most of people are not into kpop. for example this snsd song I never heard of, but just listened, tbh, this song is just like most of other kpop songs that I will not try to listen more than 2 times.

I still prefer backstreet boys the most, many songs I have listened for more than 10 years and still feel touching:)
And many Japanese songs I also like for many years like ありがとう

kpop, I think SJ's sorry sorry sorry I have listened for many times, kpop has very good dance moves and visual effect, but it is easy for me to forget after watching.

So I think the taste of people are very important, but talking about the whole population, kpop is not a popular thing.

I was a kpop fan from 2008/9 to 2015. i went back to listening to cantopop/mandopop.

kpop songs are very catchy in the beginning but two weeks later they get boring and i need to find a new one.

i can listen to some chinese songs months, years later and it's still good. sometimes i play some chinese songs while i take a shower.

Contrary to a lot of people's beliefs about non-Asian/Korean girls liking K-pop, I liked Asian guys before I discovered K-pop. Being attracted to Asian guys is what led me to discover Asian culture and music. I first got into K-pop around 2010 with DBSK. I wasn't into girl groups much in the beginning because I thought all their songs would be too girly/bubblegum and I don't like that, but there's plenty of girl groups who do more than that, especially these days. So now I listen to any song that sounds good, regardless of what group/artist sings it (the 13 year olds can have their fan wars, I'm just here to have fun). These days I'm really into NCT 127; they can all get it (especially Johnny Seo )
