Generic Dating Profiles

I've noticed this on several different sites over time.

Some people will not post any of their dislikes in a profile because they think it's too "negative."

Some don't really bother to fill out the profile; they have pictures of themselves and maybe some generic interests like "trying new food" and "travel."

Can this be an effective dating strategy? Would you contact people like this for dating, friendship, or anything?

The reason why some people didn't put their dislikes and fill out their profiles because they don't want to be honest with themselves. Some had fears of being their true authentic selves. Some people are introverts and some are extroverts.

I agree! Many times, people do not share everything about themselves because of fear of not being liked. Other times people really are not sure who they are or what they want in life.

My own profile has changed from when I first joined. After some time and meeting others I had time to reflect on what my purpose was on hey-ai. I am pretty truthful on my page, because I don't want to waste time. I rather you don't like me immediately. Secondly, I know that I only want a pen pal at this time in my life. But I have talked to many people who are kind of uncertain, if they meet the "one" they will date, or others that will date anything just to date, and some that are living a happy life and are satisfied with being single.
