Would u be annoyed if your parents interfered with your love life or decisions?

For some weird reason, my granddad and mum supports me but my dad and grandmum strongly opposed to my relationship with my girlfriend last time.

What would one do when they are caught in a 50-50 sandstorm?

ignore their feels like their ignoring yours and keep on truckin.
no matter how mad they get or anything just blow it off because its YOUR life not theres. they'll have just over it sooner or later.
plus whats the worst they can do now besides what ever they are doing now? ^ ^

Who cares? Unless there is a reason you need their approval (i.e. you live with them/they support you/you need them to put your name in their will/inheritance etc), just do what you want.

It's your life, you're no longer a child and no longer dependent on them for survival.

Of course, try to do this with tact as much as you can, there's no need in creating unneccesary drama. But if they're really really unwilling to listen, then you no longer need to hold back.

Haha they do. My parents loved my ex. And constantly encouraged me to hang out with him. Haha. However, they hated this other guy I sort of liked. We hung out and my parents wanted to stay at the mall to keep an eye on us. XD My dad just hated his guts because that guy was a player. XD They love being involved in my love life. But I tend to make my own choices... I mean, they still think my ex is amazing but ehh...

I've experienced "kinda" the same. My parents absolutely hated my previous partner. It kinda limited our time together as I was still living at home at had to follow their rules in the house. But even though they were totally against him, they couldn't really do anything against me seeing him.. and they respected my decisions although they disagreed.


I don't think parents should interfere in your love-life and decisions. You're a grown up and able to choose yourself.
But I think it's good when parents are honest about their opinions and try to guide their children to do what they think and have experienced to be the best way/solution. Then it's up to the individual how to handle it afterwards.
Although I guess parents will always be strict when it's about their childs partner and future ^^

Ofcourse I'd get annoyed! It's MY love life. I can accept guidance and advice but that's as far as it goes.

i'd be annoyed if i was still a teen/under age... At this age, it doesn't matter what they say to me. They know me better and know my response (silent or otherwise) and would think twice and hard about speaking like idiots.

lol my parents knew i liked white guys when i was younger now that i also like asian guys which in turn became my liking men of all races they are fine with it. funny thing is they think i only like asian men lol. They are fine with all men of all races since islam does not allow racism. In there eyes colour is not the issue religion is, Im likely to hear don't bring a non-muslim home than a race related comment.
