The budlight fiasco imo is just entertaining. On one side a bunch of old dudes complaining about DM on a beer can. On the other hand, the trans community, just a month before, were all up in arms crying about a release of a wizard video game.
I think one of the more interesting sides of the budlight issue is obviously the showing of DM rather than BL supporting LGBTQ community. I've actually heard from some of my more moderate female friends "365 days of girlhood" is what bothered them. They had their deeper and personal reasons for that obviously.
But don't confuse Nike with Budlight.
Nike is not impacted because their products typically do not cater to the typical conservative demographics.
They're more popular with younger generations, and as you said, younger generations are already accepting of the "woke" mindset.
We'll see Anheuser Busch next quarterly statement to see what sort of impact this may have.

Your straightforwardness is refreshing and also I never disliked you. So thank you for sharing that despite how others may think. Though I bet you I will get far more angry hate for this particular last post here. haha.
Well, I can never really tell. 80% of the time I try to join in on the forum conversations, I seem to be attacked, and I have to message like 300 people, to maybe get 1 who replies, if I'm lucky. There has to be people here, because I see tons of people online everyday, but the site is kinda dead.
Anyway, hate is bad, but any kind of attention is good attention? It's not like I will get lynched or anything, since according to all you active forum people, I live FAR FAR away in another galaxy.... 🙄
I have heard something about the Woke, here and there and had to look it up again, just to make sure. Yes, no doubt, the woke culture will blow up in our faces, just like feminism, BLM aaaand what was the other thing. Oh yes, the LGQT.....B? Whatever.
American politics is not something I am hugely invested in, other than knowing that we don't have the same messed up problems over here. I mean, every country has racism, but I think America has it bad 🙄 I'd like to stay out of the whole for/anti thing. There should be a neutral party, or a new word for it. Like we have Introverts and Extroverts, but then for some reason, some people aren't aware of us Ambiverts..... So there should be a neutral party for every For and Against. And it's like you say, everything is not just white and black. You might agree with some of the FORs and you might agree with some of the AGAINST. But does that make you for or against? 🤔 Hypothetical speaking...
The problem today is that everyone wants to be heard, seen and noticed, so although the Woke culture started as something good, it has already started going overboard. People are using it for lame things like being personally offended by something, and there are now huge debates about what we can say or what we cannot say out in public without being stared down or attacked in some places. No consideration for those people who actually use these words in their native language ofc etc etc.(like f ex Niga) And there are certain words now that I cannot say out in public, which I have used my whole life and I'm sitting here like a goddamn question mark, because I don't know what other words to use.... Anyway,
I haven't dived into Budlight or the Nike issues. I'm sure they are hopelessly unnessecarily complex 😆

These are the people in charge of fixing our "racism"
I welcome a gamma ray burst, or planetary asteroids, anything at this point.

- fighting for a real family conciliation at work,
- not charging taxes, as if they were a luxury, basic feminine intimate products,
- demand the most forceful penalties for the perpetrators of sexual crimes,
etc?
This whole movement became a pantomime where men promote bras and red pastes are created to simulate periods.
Do you really think that's being a woman?
Honestly... All this really offends me as a WOMAN.

Yes, that's true Prime, their beer popularity was already dwindling with the public unlike with Nike. And Budlight has not said publicly that they stand by Trans rights and denounce haters. So it's not compelling to the public that they planned to stand for trans, and even ended up alienating their transgender customers after it didn’t support Mulvaney after the boycott calls began. Seems the company's upper management is not yet currently willing to burn bridges with its many conservative customers just yet. But inclusive ads will be there to stay because it is good business in the long run. apnews.com/article/b...71fda0ae4b67434
But the issue is that it's becoming too easy for people to get too defensive.

Like when most people met Elliot Rodger, others just see him as a quite shy guy but deep down he was rotten to the core, blamed his violence on others and hated others deeply. And it doesn't take much to make such people go off the handle.
So maybe I am just seeing this all with what I was strongly influenced on back in 2013. Yes, there is real injustice in the world and some people are just unfortunate enough to get a lot of abuse. I imagine trans people being at the receiving end from some really nasty individuals. But this culture where you reward and enable defensiveness, which escalates fights and act like others needs to be too responsible for how you feel. I get it's complex but hard not to see how that approach will not go down well. And I don't want to work with or befriend anyone who is strongly part of that movement for reasons I outlined above.
I learned one way to know someone quickly is to get under their skin and trigger them. Just being moderately harsh to them or have a similar obnoxious personality clash with them. See if they go fly in rage and refuse to take any responsibility at all. If you do meet someone like that, they will tend to cause problems for others. You definitely don't want to be that person's friend or lover. In practise, it's challenging to be assertive enough to deliberately trigger new people and see how they react. Like blowing cigarette smoke into their face. But you are in a manager role, it's not politically correct but it pays to know how to quickly identify them in pressure situations and to not hire them. Which usually means you have to be a jerk. Except try doing that with trans.
Nowadays you can not legally "discriminate" against someone if they're loudly trans, even when it's not to do anything with their identity but the real issues is they often fight with others as they are extremely defensive af. And people side with them and make assumptions that you are a bigot. Despite I think they are not selected for job because of their abilities, but because of their identity, and I understand the complexities of the situation. And it makes me both cynical yet hopeful to see how society is regressing in rationality but with good intentions. But if a trans person is a great worker, and someone was bullying them. I would want the bully to leave. I am not anti-trans inherently. So yeah, I am not going to think this is right and hope one day, others can see that logic too.
