Out of curiosity, how long have you been learning Chinese?

Do you understand it well enough? Like you watch the below vid and easily know what the girl is saying in her vids?

I have been learning Chinese for 4 + years.
I understand about half of what she said, but to me her accent is so a little weird. I wonder what part of the Mainland she is from? I am more used to listening to Taiwanese people speak Chinese.

She's from the Korean part of the mainland. Her husband is Chinese, so she probably picked up her accent in mainland.

Yeh lol, like CNM said. She ain't chinese but in the vid, she was clearly non-native and still learning chinese. However she spoke it so well that initially I also assumed she was chinese.

That's okay. To me personally, her accent was very familiar to me. However some parts of china - they speak chinese but their dialect is so weird that even I cannot understand them. Well have to strain myself. Same to irish people trying to understand certain regional scottish people speak english as they have their own unique regional accents and extra words/style.

Hence it's forward-thinking to learn chinese from someone from the region that you will hope to later use frequently in. You say you like Taiwan. Would be wise to learn mostly from Taiwanese and pick up their style and habits in speaking. Wish you best of luck too in your endeavours.
