are You From Czech Republic? Or Germany Or EU
I am planning on a trip to Europe this summer 2018. I am hoping to get to know people from Czech, Germany or other EU countries and learn about some basics to your culture, and also learn about what is there to do, eat/drink, places to visit and get to know you(whoever you are.)
I am not big on touristy places, unless even the locals would suggest to visit. Generally, I prefer to visit where the locals would go to hangout. I have an appetite for adventure. So, please feel free to share with me your thoughts and send me a message. I hope we can get acquainted
A little bit about myself, I am from NYC and I was born in Taiwan. Currently, I am living in Grenada for school. If you want to learn about any of these countries, language, culture, general daily life experience, I will be more than happy to share my experiences with you.
CR will be my first stop, the "draft plan" is to spend a week in a different country. I got about 5 weeks off.
I'll probably be going to Germany or Poland for my second stop. France, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Romania are also on my list.
Hope to hear from you soon.

If you plan to visit Czech Republic, I will strongly advize you to watch all the videos from the Honest Guide (Janek RUBEŠ & Honza MIKULKA) . They give you all the tips you need to know so as not to get crooked in beautiful city of Prague. In short, avoid some taxi drivers & beware of exchange offices from corporate companies. They also give you nice places to see in the city.

Czechs are a little introverted. They don't really speak that much of english so don't be suprised if they ignore you. Giving directions is also a little bit hard for us beacuse we are a bit ignorant, or they want to be helpful but they give you the wrong directions anyway(not intentionally ofc) so it's better to ask a policeman or in a infocentre (there is a lot of them). Beware of thieves.! They are mostly women and there is a lot of them in the centre. They are really great at it, seriously. If you see someone speak to themselves loudly(may be homeless people or drug users) don't stare at them. They may be really agressive... also watch where you go and where you sit, there may be some used injections... If you use a public transport you have to buy a ticket (you have to also mark it for the ticket to be valid). It's also forbidden to drink alcohol in public.

my apologize for the late reply. The past months school work has been eating up all my time. Finally! Finally now I got sometime to organize my plans for the summer. I will certainly keep in mind of your advises, I think they are very helpful to know. I will probably be in Prague in the late May or beginning of June.
I see that you are from Czech, as a local, what would you suggest me to try? Such as food, places to go? And where can I meet people who are from Czech locally? I mean, is there another social site or certain social events that occurs and gathers in Czech? I would like to be acquainted and hopefully make friends with people local. Thanks.

Here are my few tips about the city:
When at the airport, DON'T CHANGE YOUR MONEY at exchange offices: they'll rip you off. Most shops there will let you pay in euros / US dollars at fair rate or with your bank card.
Then, to get to city centre from airport, avoid taxi cabs. Lots of them are crooks. Take the public transport instead: Bus 119 or AirportExpress. (AE bus ticket costs 60 crowns (CZK) at most & includes luggage. Bus 119 will be 32 crowns. Daily transport pass is 110 crowns & 3 day pass is 310 crowns, both will allow you to take luggage in bus, tram & metro).
If you want to eat with local people, watch these videos below by the Honest Guide :
I've had meal at Jidelna Světozor, Airport cafeteria & Lokal Dlouha. Each time, I was one of the very few foreigners there, if any other.
To avoid tourists crowd, wake up at dawn & you'll have Charles Bridge for yourself or almost. Otherwise it's crowded all day.
I'm not a night-clubber myself, but if you are, instead of Duplex, go to Roxy club. That's where Prague people go party apparently.
Also, learn a few basic words in Czech. It will help break the ice & they will like the effort... even if you plan to say that you don't speak their language: Promiňte. Nemluvim Česky.
Make sure to take the funicular to Petřin hill at Ujedz, both by day & night. It just costs a transport ticket (daily pass accepted).
If you need more info, just ask.
Damm, wish I could be in Prague too.

When you visited Prague, did you use AirBnB or did you stayed at a hotel? If its a hotel, where do you recommend to stay? I'm looking into AirBnB and hoping to rent an apartment. I prefer cooking my food in the morning and make my own coffee so I need a kitchen. However, if AirBnB doesn't work out, hotel will do.
Do you have specific zone to hang out and specific zone to avoid?
I'm trying to learn a few useful words. Thanks for the heads up, I'll probably be paying mostly by cards and it's just easier.
How long where you there for? I'm planning on 2 weeks fo stay and longer if necessary. By the looks of on the map, I think 2 weeks probably is sufficient to explore the city.
Do you know any other site where foreign travelers can get acquainted with the locals? Or people from CZ?
Thanks, I really appreciated for your insights!
