actually learning a "non popular" language is quite profitable, whats the use of german or french when millions of other people in your country speak these languages as they 2nd language, it wont really give you any job opportunity.

Im surprised that there are so many surprised forum users here who dis your idea to learn polish. After all Poland is nearly a 40 mln people country in europe, 6th biggest economy in the European union, and 20th economy in the world by gross domestic product

but still polish is hard to learn.
and Poland's economy isn't that open for foreigners.

well there are many vietnamese people here, the real number is unknown but surely over 40 000 maybe up to 60 000
In whole the EU some asian companies are discriminated (especially in construction sector), as they work for little money and many domestic supply companies don't want to cooperate with them, its kind of setup.
Anyways i suppose its easier to an asian person to learn polish (if he knows english or any other indo european language) than to a polish person to learn any asian language

nah, untrue. i see how vietnamese society develop here in Poland. most of vietnamese are driving new Audi/Mercedes/BMW and using high tech stuff. same in Germany, France, England.
they know their ways to get rich. many polish ppl are very ksenofobic just because of that!

Anyways i wouldnt compare polish "xenophobia" with what happens in other countries. Simple fact - no asian or african has even ever killed in poland based on racism. Also there are no big anti0immigrant political parties in poland, - which you can find in west europe - for example the British National Party, Greek Golden Dawn, German NPD, dutch Geert Wilders' party sooo on.

I dont know about the other cities here but in my city the asians usually deal either with restuarans or small trade.

the discrimination of chinese construction companies is a fact, they are often forced to withdraw from european market because the locals dont want to supply them with materials, or artifically rise the prices - it was even a case presented to the European Commission
