I'm going to Japan Soon

sooo JAP lovers, 2 of my good friends and i are going to japan soon...

flights booked from 6th to 18th july arriving and departing from Osaka.

we are all a bit lost as to how to go about it as one has never been to asia,

one has been to japan last year but didnt achieve much as he was with just his then gf and

didnt prepare for language and culture differences and ended up mostly in his hotel lost,

hence the reason he wants to redo japan this time with mates and in the summer time.

Also ive only been to japan once and that was for 3 days and i was young so dont remember

much and feel i should understand my neighbouring country the differences and wat not

plus been to korea too many times so for something different.

We are thinking osaka and tokyo as they seem the 2 popular places and we are going there

purely to shop, explore, eat, drink, party and get extremely wasted most nights.


There are a number of questions we are trying to figure out...

if anyone whos over there, know the place or has been there like we will, as tourists could

answer any of these questions, i will be very grateful and will buy you a cheeseburger !


QUESTIONS:

1. osaka and tokyo are definates, anything to do in kyoto, kobe or yokohama.

2. wats best way from osaka airport to osaka centre (taxi, bus, train, subway)

3. is it better to stay close to the hubs or is it ok to stay a bit away from them, ie. are transport routes quick and reliable. Or should we get hotels in dotonbori or shinjuku etc.

4. we are planning to see the city using bicycles, day and night, is this good idea, can u park and chain ur bike anywhere in city.

5. is spa world in osaka suitable for 20 yr olds or is it a kids place. Also we all have tattoos, some more then others, can we go to spa world or baths due to this. plz consider that both friends are white and im not korean not japanese, will they be more leanient.

6. my friend has a whole sleeve of tattoos on one of his arms and its gonna be summer so singlets will be the norm, is this a nono to show tattoos in public, will he not get into bars, clubs because of this.

7. we all have a loaded wallet when it comes to food and drinks, we love eating and partying,
we are looking culinary wise to try everything from food from vending machines, convenient stores, izakaya, ramen shops, jap fast food, and also fine dining restaurants. the question is are there such things as jap fast food stores, and also wat are some top fine dining restaurants.

8. we are shopping for clothes, accessories, watches , shoes, jewellery. we dont want designer labels as we have the same stuff here in sydney and im sure department stores for h&m and other brands are easy to find. we are specifically looking for local designers and local brands jap guys would buy from and wear. where in osaka and tokyo do these shops exist. also does japan have a fake items area for fake rolexes, LV bags etc.

9. the major part of our trip will be to party, as this is our vacation time, we party each wkend, we all work in bars and nightclubs and love to go out on the town. there are a number of questions:

wat time do japs head out, start drinking, when do clubs bars open and close.

are white ppl and koreans segregrated, do they not allow ppl due to race.

whats the age for drinking there. should we bring passport or aussie drivers license fine.

where do jap ppl go out to, as in wat are the poplular and best places to go in dotonbori, roppingi, shinjuku and shibuya.

my friend said when he went last year he couldnt find bars/clubs as they arent on ground level, where are they, are they hard to find.

are there any underground, odd bars /clubs to go to, do japs have rooftop clubs.

when at the bar to order drinks, do they know english ie. if i said barcadi coke and lime or old fashioned do they understand, do they like tips.

my white boys want to kno if ppl in clubs especially jap chiks will stay away from them because they are white and dont speak jap, or are they keen.

do japs stik to there cirlcle of friends, if so, we here roppingi is full of tourists, is it better to stik to the touristy bars and clubs.

is it ok and alright to mack on birds in a bar or club or do japs frown upon hooking up.

what do japs drink when they are out, beer, wine , sake, cocktails, spirits

we pretty much want to experience all facets of japanese nightlife, from high end bars, low end bars, rooftop bars, underground bars, small clubs, popular clubs, top clubs, touist clubs.

If any1 could help with this or any of the questions cheeseburgers are on offer
