I don't really have any were I really want to go. To me, just being able to get a job in Japan is a great achievement. To have a chance to experience Japanese culture first had and to really learn the language is really life changing. So I'm not fussed either way. Plus, it would be easier to get a placement where work is needed so it helped with my application

But it got me thinking, what if you were able to choose where in Japan you really wanted to live, where would it be.

Tokyo and Yokohama are best suited. Although a really true Japanese city is Osaka. But its easier for foreigners to adapt to life in Tokyo or Yokohama rather than Osaka.

Hooray for you! You will love it, have fun.

Tokyo, Roppongi Hills or somewhere next to a train station or rail line, in a condo like right next to the tracks either above or at their level. By the Yamanotesen preferably. Big railfan, so I want to see, hear, and feel them as they roll by.
Osaka. I'm very curious about that city, and its merchant/business culture.

So, you got a job in Japan but don't know how to speak Japanese??? WOW... good luck!!! but there are enough americans there I guess for you to survive and probably enough people speak english I would guess... Cause I can tell you... after 2.5 years of Formal education in Nihon go... its TOUGH... cause they speak VERY quickly and just like us americans will speed past sounds that should be in the word for it to be recognizable to someone who was not born into the language... I would consider myself fluent to speak to an americanized Japanese person like my ex and his family... but I would need a couple more years before I move... "im kinda glad med school is long"

I only know the basic stuff, I can introduce myself in Japanese. But if someone starts talking about the weather etc.. I'm totally lost. But I get to take free Japanese classes with the company I am with when I'm in Japan. So its helpful.
well there is a lot of people who want to go to Osaka.
